Baker's Man Inc. is proud to receive the coveted Allie Award! This is our fourth time winning the award in the
six years that we have been creating custom cakes here in Atlanta (2003, 2006, 2007) The Allie awards are a way to
showcase the best of the best in the hospitality industry here in Atlanta. It is a recognition award given by
NACE (National Association of Catering Executives) and ISES (International Society of Event Specialists). The
cake design that won this year was for Dr. Charles Stanley's 75th Birthday and 50 years in the ministry. He is
the minister at The First Baptist Church here in Atlanta. We created a nine foot tall cake presentation based

the night. The cutting and eating of the cake
signifies the finale to these events, grand
or intimate, and you want the last statement
to be as breathtaking as the first.

her wedding day, there has never been one
who has ever purposely thought about serving
a dry cake that leaves a greasy after-taste.
Yet that is what so many brides consider doing
when ordering the all important focal point
dessert for their wedding reception.
Not everyone who has ever
baked a cake can be called a pastry chef.
In this world of fast-food mentality and
cost-cutting substituions, there are a few
companies within Atlanta that are standing
behind quality products and services.
Baker's Man Inc. was started in 1999 as
a response to a budding wedding community
severely starved for quality pastry chefs.
Pastry Chef Mark Brickman is a graduate
of the prestigious Johnson and Wales University
in Providence, Rhode Island. While there,
he studied pastry arts and food service
management. He excelled over other students
with his magnificent attention to detail
along with a strong and diligent work ethic.
Even before college, Mark worked in an upscale
retail bakery where he learned the do's
and don'ts "hands-on" from seasoned
pros. Following graduation Mark honed his
craft at an upscale restaurant in Lausanne,
Switzerland. Mark has continued learning
and practicing his amazing skills in such
tonier hotels as The Peabody, Memphis; The
Ritz-Carlton Hotels, St. Louis and Atlanta
(Buckhead); along with the Grand Hyatt Atlanta.
All of these properties embody standards
of excellence and exceeding expectations
that Mark continues to integrate into his
standard operation.
